Resource Persons are usually appointed to set the questions for the professional cadres. Such resource persons are chosen from the academia and relevant Ministries/Extra-Ministerial Departments. Random questions with answers are prepared from which the Commission selects the desired number. The examinations are supervised/invigilated by the Commissioners assisted by staff of Promotion Department. Both the Resource Persons and the Commissioners undertake the marking.
The examination scores of each candidate are added to their APER, Seniority and Appearance scores and a merit list is prepared and presented for the Commission’s deliberations at a formal meeting. The minutes/conclusions of the Commission’s meeting duly signed by the Chairman is released and conveyed to successful candidates by the Promotion Department through their respective Ministries/Extra-Ministerial Department and pool offices.
